Ogee Polysemy
Gallery Box - 26 Lakeshore Ave, Ward’s Island, Toronto Islands
Silvia creates both functional and sculptural objects; working in handblown glass and metals. She also creates jewellery and this exhibition showcases sculptural jewel-like objects. Ogee refers to objects, elements and curves often found in architecture displaying a serpentine form. Polysemy is to have multiple meanings. These sculptures play with transparency and the opaque while also illuminating the luminosity of all materials. The fragility and light of glass; the weight and power of different metals are juxtaposed. Together they evoke past traditions of ornament as well as material transformation through fire.
Sculptures from Ogee Polysemy are available as installations and individually. More components available, inquire to find out more.
