Pasha Moezzi
Robotics
Gallery Box - 26 Lakeshore Ave, Ward’s Island, Toronto Island
I started my jewellery career by making pieces out of scrap pieces at my father’s metal shop. Using what is accessible and available has always brought me great satisfaction. For the Robots Project I decided to use components I already had whether it be left overs from other projects or from production pieces I have made previously. The combination and assembly of the pieces to make something grander and more meaningful brings me so much joy. The idea of robots, how they are the sum of many parts, their function as well as their overall look has always fascinated me. Uniting these elements brings the Robots to life for me.
PASHA MOEZZI is an international, emerging jewellery artist residing in Toronto. He obtained his Fine Arts diploma from Langara College (Vancouver) and later completed his BFA in Design Arts at Concordia University (Montreal). Pasha has also completed his goldsmith training at George Brown College (Toronto) where he graduated from the Jewellery Arts program in 2015.
Pasha’s pursuit of making wearable art emerged while working at his father’s furniture-making workshop in Iran, where he made jewellery out of scrap metal. Intricate—and the direct result of three decades of experience—Pasha’s work has a distinct style influenced by industrial craftsmanship and architectural forms, which is evident in both his one-of-a-kind work and his production lines. His work has been recognized by several awards and competitions and has been showcased at solo and group exhibitions in Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto and Tehran. Pasha was accepted as an Artist-in-Residence at Harbourfront Centre in 2015. After completing his residency he has obtained his own studio and is working on his jewellery work, small household items and sculptures.
