Reflections:
Gardens, common spaces of everyday life, act as enclosed areas in which humans can control and organize nature. Inside a fabricated metal structure composed of juxtaposed cells, like the various zones of a garden, I create enclosed spaces in which all things possible may happen. Using the categorization and organization principles of garden design, I turn disorder into order, unconsciousness into consciousness and spontaneity into arrangement and calculation.

The prevailing element of my creative process is my lean towards calculation, logic, rationality, control and, by association, the absence thereof. Through a reference to garden design, I play with the dualistic tension between elements – flat and textured surfaces, pure and altered forms, regular and irregular patterns. The resulting compositions aim to visually translate the satisfying balance between absolute order and disorder, the moment of stability achieved at the cusp of a transition into chaos.
