ATHENA SARRACINI is a writer and ceramicist based in Toronto. Her work is inspired by a childhood spent in Greece — the bold blues of the Aegean Sea, the stark white of Cycladic houses, spirals, circles and evil eyes. Athena’s ceramics are designed to be used (each piece is dishwasher and oven safe) but a sense of play takes priority over function. There are no straight lines or perfect circles. Each piece is made using traditional hand building techniques, and no two pieces are ever the same.
